Minimoog power consumption, measured at DC fuses. These measurements were taken from my minimoog clone, not a "real" minimoog, but the circuitry is identical, except for the power transformer voltage rating. I have the second version of the oscillator board. Apparently the third version draws quite a bit more current. Power transformer was Radio Shack 25.2VCT, and unregulated voltages were +/- 15.5VDC. Regulated voltages set to +/- 10VDC. Meter I was using for -10V was displaying in 10 mA increments 1) P/S bd and Osc only: Osc levels at max osc 1 60 Hz, reverse ramp osc 2 43 Hz, triangle osc 3 41 Hz, reverse ramp +10V 110 mA -10V 140 mA Changed to three square waves, 535, 380, 380 Hz. No change in current. Changed to 1104, 650, 795 Hz. Still no change in current. 2) P/S bd and contour only: +10V 85 mA -10V 50 mA 3) P/S + Osc + Contour: +10V 119 mA -10V 150 mA 4) P/S + Filter + Contour: +10V 122 mA -10V 60 mA 5) All boards installed: +10V 158 mA -10V 160 mA Getting +/-15.5V at fuses. Both voltages at fuses have ~400 mV p-p ripple at 120 Hz. (Is this normal?) 6) Set sustains up, enabled all 3 oscillators, all bds installed: +10V 165 mA -10V 160 mA
